Hairsine Community League Area
The Hairsine community League rink is now open! The rink hours are dependent on the weather. Please see the "Rink" page link to the left for more information. Please note that a valid membership is mandatory. If you do not have a membership, there will be a charge at the rink or you can contact Jamie for memberships.
Important Notice
On Dec. 7, the Hairsine Community Executive Members were approached by a group wanting to convert the Blockbuster movie store, located by Wal-Mart on 137th Avenue to a Liquor store. There were only 200 letters sent to the surrounding area that this would affect. This group have not applied for the re-zoning that is required but do plan on doing so in the new year.
As your Executive, we have let them know that we *do not* support another liquor store coming into our area. As information comes about, we will keep you informed.
Please note, that we already have 3 liquor stores (Belmont Spirits by Sobey's, Liqour Depot by Giant Tiger, and Superstore's liquor store) in our vicinity with another one on 50th Street.
*Executive Committee Vacancies*
We are looking for additional volunteers to join our Executive Committee! We have the following positions open:
- *Secretary* (records minutes of meetings)
- *Social Director* (helps with planning of community events and works with our City of Edmonton Rep)
- *Grants Director* (would be working with the President, Treasurer and City of Edmonton Rep to ensure all the Grants we are allowed, we have applied for).
- *Volunteers Director*
- *Building Director* (this position would be to look after building maintenance and issues, along with the running of the rink and concession stand, ensuring appropriate staff/volunteers are available).
- *Ball Director for 2012 season*.
Upcoming Events
Family Day event, on Monday, February 20th noon to 3pm at the Hairsine Hall, 3120-139 Ave.. There will be Sleigh rides, skating, free hotdogs and hot chocolate, and cookie decorating. Everyone welcome.

*Membership Information*
A valid Community Membership is *mandatory*when signing up your children for any Community based league activity and/ or sport. You *must* have a membership from the Community you live in.
Valid Community Memberships are from Sept 1 2011 to Aug 31, 2012.
